1. Loosen lower fascia - Using T15 torxbit, remove (3) screws from bottom of lower fascia. Return (1) screw to vehicle owner.
2. Feed fasteners – (a) Using a flat head screwdriver, remove (2) clips of wiring cable from side of both frame rails. (b) Using utility knife, remove the caulking area as
shown in Figure 3. (c) Feed the carriage bolts ① and washers ② through access holes on both side frame rails using the pull wires ⑤, see Figure 1 & 2. Leave pull wires
attached.
3. Trim lower fascia – Using a tape measure, marker, and utility knife, measure, mark, and trim the lower fascia. See Figure 4.
4. Install hitch - Gently pulling the lower fascia outward, raise the hitch into position and slide it behind the fascia. Feed the pull wires through bracket slots. Remove pull
wires and loosely install conical washers ③, hex nuts ④ to the hitch.
5. Tighten all 7/16-14x1.75 GR 5 fasteners to 50 ft-lb (68 N*m).
6. Reinstall (2) screws on the side of lower fascia.
Note: check hitch frequently, making sure all fasteners and ball are properly tightened. If hitch is removed, plug all holes in trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes. A
hitch or ball which has been damaged should be removed and replaced. Observe safety precautions when working beneath a vehicle and wear eye protection. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a
torch. This product complies with safety specifications and requirements for connecting devices and towing systems of the state of New York, V.E.S.C. Regulation V-5 and SAE J684.
