FITTING INSTRUCTIONS

Note:
Underseal coating, hollow space sealant (wax) and insulating material must be removed from the contact
surface of the trailer hitch to the vehicle. Remove any drilling chips and treat exposed auto body parts
(e.g. drill holes) with antirust paint.
1. Remove rear plastic bumper with the inner steel support from the vehicle. Remove the standard steel
support, this part is no longer required.
2. Remove ball neck (2) (see separate fitting instructions).
3. The plastic bumper must be cut out and socket. Adhere the enclosed corresponding template (4) with
the adhesive strips outside on the plastic bumper and carefully cut out, e.g. with a compass saw. Cut
out the supporting panel on the inside of the plastic bumper, also in the ball neck area, as marked.
4. Assemble the electrical installation set according to the separate instructions.
5. Insert towing hitch base part (1) into the vehicle struts, align and fix in position screwing the hexagon
ribbed screws (3) at "a".
Tighten crosswise the 4 hexagon ribbed screws (3) evenly and alternately.
Tightening torque: M10x35 - 10.9 = 80 Nm
All bolts have to be controlled after the towing-distance of 1000 km, and if necessary to re-fasten.
6. Fit the plastic bumper with the standard screws.
7. The cut out area of the bumper is to be closed off with the enclosed cover (12).
These covers can also be obtained from your SEAT dealer with following part number:
6L6.803.595 (Ibiza 02) and 6L6.803.595A (Ibiza 06)

Keys and replacing them: Place one of the keys to your spare car keys and/or note the key number
(stamped on the key tab).

The ball rod should be operated as stated in the separate instructions. If the ball rod is removed,
always insert the plug (9) fully into the mounting sleeve of the ball rod.The ball rod must be kept in
the tool box.The ball rod and this mount should always be kept clean.
§
The ball rod should be secured safely so that it cannot slip to avoid dirt and damage.
§
The ball rod may be used only when trailer is disengaged.
