Tubular Assist Step Installation Procedure
1. Determine left hand and right hand tubular assist steps. For
Tahoe and Yukon vehicles, the rear step pad will be shorter
than the front step pad. For Suburban, Yukon XL, and
Avalanche vehicles, the rear step pad will be closer to the
end of the tube than the front step pad.
2. Install driver side tubular assist step (Item 1) by hanging
front bracket on front stud or install supplied M8 bolt (Item
3). Then hang rear bracket on rear stud or install supplied
M8 bolt (Item 3). See Figure 2.

3. Loosely install M8 nuts (Item 5) onto threaded studs in
positions 1 and 4 for vehicles equipped with studs.
4. From underneath, insert M8 X 20 mm bolts (Item3) through
bracket, bracket cover, rocker panel, and into weld nut in
position 1. Tighten to 25Nm. Repeat for position 4, then 2,
3. See Figure 3.
5. Tighten M8 nut (Item 5) onto threaded stud or bolt (Item 3) in
position 1 to 25Nm. Repeat for position 4. Insert M8 X
20mm bolt (Item 3) through bracket and into weld nut in
rocker position 2. Tighten to 25Nm. Repeat for position 3.
6. Repeat steps 2 through 5 for passenger side tubular assist
step assembly.
7. Verify correct torque on all hardware.
