SKIMMER ASSEMBLY
The V Skim 120 Protein Skimmer is supplied almost fully assembled to ensure the skimmer

is ready to use as soon as possible after unpacking.
1. Ensure the skimmer collection cup (2), lid (1) and collection cup collar (3) are securely
and correctly positioned on the main skimmer body (8)
INSTALLATION
The V²Skim 120 is designed for simple installation internally in the aquarium or sump. The
versatile mounting brackets supplied with the V²Skim 120 ensure that it can be
incorporated with nano and smaller volume aquariums or sumps where space is limited.
Select which method of installation - mounting bracket A (15) or mounting bracket A (15)
+ B (16) - would best suit your aquarium or sump ensuring that there is adequate space
for the collection cup to be removed for cleaning and to allow access to the skimmer for
any maintenance that may be required. For a more secure installation we recommend
using both mounting brackets.
Installation Method 1: Using Only Mounting Bracket A (15)
If you intend to use only mounting bracket A (15) for the installation of the V²Skim 120
please read the following and refer to diagram 1 below.
1. Attach theV²Skim 120 to the inside of your aquarium or sump ensuring that the suction
cups on the mounting bracket and on the base of the skimmer are secured.
2. Ensure that the V²Skim 120 is positioned in your aquarium or sump so that the top of
the water outlet (7) on the skimmer is located approximately 1cm below the water
surface in your aquarium or sump (please see diagram 2 below) and both the water
inlet (6) and water outlet (7) are unrestricted. Please note: the top of the water
outlet (7) on the V²Skim 120 must not be positioned any lower than approx. 1cm
beneath the water surface as this would cause water to be drawn into the air intake (5)
on the injection system and as a result the skimmer will not perform correctly.
USEFUL TIP: The V²Skim 120 base securing screw (13) and suction cup (14) can be
simply turned and adjusted to help ensure that the V²Skim 120 is successfully
positioned and attached to the side of your aquarium or sump.
