Do not plug a phone jack connector into any RJ-45 port. This may
damage the switch. Use only twisted pair cables with RJ-45
connectors that conform with FCC standards.
To determine whether a crossover cable is necessary when
connecting an end node to the switch, refer to the AT-8324SX Fast
Ethernet Switch Installation Guide.
8.
Apply AC power to the switch by plugging the power cord into the AC
power connector on the back panel of the unit and plugging the other end
into a wall outlet.
The power cord is used as a disconnect device. To de-energize
equipment, disconnect the power cord.
9.
If you purchased a redundant power supply (RPS) unit for the Ethernet
switch, connect the RPS unit to the DC INPUT connector on the rear of the
switch.
10. Check the Power LED on the front panel of the switch. The LED should be
ON. The unit will automatically select the setting that matches the
connected input voltage. No additional adjustments are necessary when
connecting the unit to any input voltage within the range marked on the
rear panel.
11. Wait for the switch to complete its self-diagnostic tests. The tests take
approximately 10 seconds.
The unit supports a "hot remove" feature that permits you to
connect or disconnect twisted pair or fiber cables without having to
power off the switch and without disrupting the operation of the
other devices connected to the switch.
The switch is ready for normal network operations.
