4) When ironing, unplug the appliance before refilling. Fill the water tank by holding the iron
in horizontal position without putting down the hot soleplate, unless you put it on the heat-
resistant base.
SPRAY
 Produces a mist for removing stubborn creases.
 Spray can be used at any temperature setting and during either dry or steam pressing.
Press down the spray button to spray.
FILLING THE WATER TANK OF THE BASE (FOR STEAM-IRONING)
1. Put the base on a stable surface.
2. Use the small grips of the water tank to take out the water tank. Open the cap and fill the
water tank with clear water up to its "Max" level. Do not fill beyond this maximum level! You
can use tap water, but we advise you to use distilled water.
3. Close the cap of the water tank.
4. Put the water tank back in the base correctly. Make sure to keep it upright in order to
avoid spilling water. Press the grips until the water tank is locked in place.
5. Never use vinegar, detergents or other chemical products.
FILLING THE WATER TANK DURING USE
As the water tank of this appliance is not under pressure, you can refill it during use. To do so,
switch off the appliance, unplug it and just proceed as described above in the "Filling the
water tank of the base" section. When you have put the water tank back in place, plug the
appliance in again, switch it on and wait until the indicator lamp of the iron goes out. Then you
can start ironing again.
BURST OF STEAM
The burst of steam feature
This button also allows you to iron delicate articles of clothing vertically. This feature is called
"vertical burst of steam". To do so, hang your article of clothing on a hanger, keep the steam
button pressed and pass the iron to and fro in front of the article of clothing, making sure that
the soleplate does not come into contact with the article of clothing. The distance between
the soleplate and the article of clothing depends on the kind of textile and the creases.
BEFORE THE FIRST USE
 We recommend cleaning the iron before the first use as follows: fill the water tank, put the
temperature dial on position "LINEN" and the steam regulator on MAX and let the iron
heat for 10 minutes. When the temperature has been reached, take the iron from the
base, hold it vertically and keep the steam button pressed for 30 seconds, then wait 30
seconds and repeat this cycle twice.
 Switch off the appliance (switch in position "0"), unplug it and let it cool down sufficiently,
then clean the soleplate with a damp cloth.
STEAM IRON: PRECAUTION FOR USE AND TEMPERATURES
 Always check first if a label with ironing instructions is attached to the article that needs to
be ironed. Follow these ironing instructions in all cases.
