INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Temperature sensor (TF)
GB
Scope of delivery:
• Coupled temperature sensors
Important information
!
The temperature sensor type must match the
information on the computer unit name plate.
!
Only install or exchange the temperature sen-
sors (measurement inserts) in pairs.
Target group
• Qualified craftsmen
• Specialist personnel trained by Techem
Intended use
Temperature sensors are installed in immersion
pockets - but also directly dipped.
Installation
The temperature sensors can be installed in special
ball valves (qp 0.6–6 m
which are authorised for this type of sensor (> qp 6
m
3
/h). –
Observe the national regulations.
Directly dipping installation:
The installation of the directly dipping temperature
sensors is described in detail in the installation/op-
erating instructions for Techem computer units.
!
Only install temperature sensors in compatible
installation locations (e.g. special ball-valves)
intended for this purpose.
Installation in immersion pockets.
Basic principles
• The temperature sensors must fit precisely in the
immersion pocket (tolerance max 0.02 mm).
• The immersion pocket must not be screwed into
the welding sleeve.
• Always install inlet and outlet sensors similarly.
• It must always be possible to remove inlet and
outlet sensors.
• Install immersion pockets und temperature sen-
sors according to Fig.:
The sensor or immersion pocket must dip into the
medium up to over the pipe axle (middle of the
pipe).

/h) or immersion pockets
Observe when installing in 60 mm immersion
pockets.
For the following installation sets you have to fit the
plastic sleeve which is enclosed to the temperature
sensors:
• 00 340 330: qp 10m³/h, DN40, horizontal
• 00 340 335: qp 10m³/h, DN40, riser pipe / down-
pipe
Observe when installing in long immersion
pockets.
When installing short temperature sensors (45 mm)
in immersion pockets with the article numbers 340
085 085 (85 mm) and 340 120 (120 mm), you have
to use the spacer which is enclosed. Spacer instal-
lation according to Fig.:

Installing temperature sensors
!
The wire from the temperature sensor to the
computer unit may neither be extended nor
shortened, and may not have any connections.
Extension of the wire is not allowed, with the
exception of permitted four wire junction box-
es in a four connection socket.
1
Insert the temperature sensor as far as it will go.
2
Lock the temperature sensor or spacer. In doing
so, only tighten the locking screw finger-tight.
Final tasks
1
Seal immersion pockets and temperature sen-
sors correctly.
2
Check leak tightness of directly dipped sensors.
