Installing the 6" Tall Riser Kit
CAUTION! Be sure to follow the instructions provided with the gasket kit (PN 3863191) for correct
torque specifications on screws and for surface preparation details when installing the gasket.
WARNING! To prevent sparks which may ignite gas fumes, disconnect all power sources before
proceeding with the installation.
WARNING! This installation should NOT be done on boats/engines that are in the water. Loosening
the exhaust system hoses while the boat is in the water may cause engine compartment flooding
and/or sink the boat.
NOTE! This kit and instructions cover multiple specifications of V6 and V8 engines. Before removing the risers,
note the position and attaching hardware of all components mounted to the risers. Note the location and
position of all wires, hoses and parts attached to these components. These will be re-installed in the same
position with the same hardware. In most cases it will not be necessary to remove these items from the
engine; disconnect them from the riser and secure them out of the way until reinstalled. Retain all hard-
ware and materials unless instructed to discard.
