Pressure Relief Procedure
To reduce the risk of serious bodily injury, including electric
shock and splashing fluid in the eyes, follow this procedure
whenever you stop spraying.
1. Shut off pump and sprayer.
2. Open sprayer drain valve.
3. Close applicator air valve.
Purpose
Valve may be added to select texture applicators (for example
24B944 and 24B945) to control fluid leakage during nozzle
changes and other temporary stoppages. The pump must
NOT be operating and the fluid pressure must be relieved
when the valve is closed.
NOTICE
Valve is NOT intended to shut off, control, or "throttle" fluid
flow when the system is pressurized. Even partial closure of
this valve when system pressure is present or starting the
pump when this valve is closed can greatly decrease valve life
and/or cause certain texture materials to immediately harden
in the pump and hoses.
Ball valve must be opened prior to restarting machine. Failure to
open ball valve may result in material pack-out of hose and
pumps.
Installation
1. Perform Pressure Relief Procedure.
2. Remove Quick Disconnect Coupler on inlet end of applicator.
3. Apply thread sealant included in kit to male threads on valve
and applicator. Reassemble with valve located between cou-
pler and applicator.
4. Tighten securely. Be sure to align valve handle so that it does
not interfere with other controls when valve handle is in open
or closed positions.
