8. Switch the solder station 'OFF' when not in use, refer to 'Switching ON and OFF' to switch the
soldering iron 'OFF'
9. Store the soldering iron in the Soldering Iron Holder when not in use

Replacing the tip
Note: Replacement tips can be found at a local Silverline stockist,.
WARNING: Ensure the appliance is switched 'OFF' and has fully cooled down before
attempting to change the Tip (5).
1. Hold the Handle (9) firmly
2. Unscrew the Tip Locking Ring (6) using a pair of suitable pliers, turning anticlockwise
3. Pull the Tip out and discard
4 Reverse this procedure to replace the Tip
General inspection
• Regularly check that all the fixing screws are tight
• Inspect the supply cord of the appliance, prior to each use, for damage or wear. Repairs should
be carried out by an authorised Silverline service centre. This advice also applies to extension
cords used with this appliance
Cleaning
• Clean the Tip (5) before and after use using the damp Cleaning Pad (8)
• If necessary when the soldering iron has cooled, wire wool can be used to clean the tip more
thoroughly
• Keep your appliance clean at all times. Dirt and dust will cause internal parts to wear quickly, and
shorten the machine's service life. Clean the body of your machine with a soft brush, or dry cloth.
If available, use clean, dry, compressed air to blow through the ventilation holes
• Clean the appliance casing with a soft damp cloth using a mild detergent. Do not use alcohol,
petrol or strong cleaning agents
• Never use caustic agents to clean plastic parts
