Tensioning the chain
The tightness of the chain can be adjusted
without using a tool.
Turn the nger screw (2) 1-2 revolutions
anticlockwise to loosen it.
Turn the SDS knob clockwise until the saw
chain is tightened correctly.
It should be possible to lift the saw chain
approximately 3 mm from the blade at the
middle of the blade. It should spring back
when released. The saw chain must not be
hanging down beneath the blade.
Check that the saw chain can move freely
by pulling on it at the top of the blade while
wearing gloves.
Tighten the nger screw (2) again.
It is important for optimum cutting results
and to maximise the service life of the saw
chain that it is tightened correctly.
If you have tted a brand new saw chain, you
should allow the chainsaw to run freely for
2-3 minutes and then check the saw chain's
tension.
Filling with chain oil
NB! The chainsaw is supplied without chain
oil. It must NEVER be used without chain oil!
Before each use check that there is suffi cient
chain oil in the chain oil tank!
Unscrew the cover (6) from the chain oil tank
and use a funnel to ll with 150 ml of new,
clean chain oil. Replace the cap.
Check the oil level on the oil gauge on
the chain oil tank (12) regularly and re ll if
necessary.
Check that oil is discharged by the saw chain
once it is rotating. If necessary, place a piece
of paper on the ground so that it is easier to
see the oil splashes.
