 Use the hedge trimmer only at reasonable times
of the day and not early in the morning or at night
when you may disturb people.
 The ideal shape to cut a hedge is trapezoidal
as this shape ensures that all areas of the hedge
have adequate light and air.
 Shorten new shoots only to half the length in
order to promote dense growth in young hedges.
 If the hedge has already reached the required
height, you can completely remove new shoots.
 If branches are too thick for the cutter, cut them
off with a saw.
Attention! Dual action blades!
Switch off the hedge trimmer if the cutter
is blocked, e.g. by thick branches, etc.
– Remove the battery.
– Do not grip running cutting edges.
– Eliminate the cause of the blockage.
Cutting the top of the hedge
.
 When cutting the top of the hedge, guide
the hedge trimmer to the left and right
in swinging/sweeping movements.
 To obtain optimum cutting results, point the cutter
downwards slightly in the direction of the cutting
movement.
 To ensure that the height of the hedge is even,
you can peg out a string line at the required height
and cut along this line.
Cutting the sides of the hedge
 If cutting the sides of the hedges, start cutting
the lower part of the hedge and work upwards.
 To obtain optimum cutting results, point the cutter
downwards slightly in the direction of the cutting
movement.
 Cut the sides of the hedge tapering upwards
to ensure an even hedge growth.
Cutting times
 Deciduous hedges: May/June and October
(in winter cut back by approx. 1/3 of the total
height)
