Product testing
The Jøtul F 3 is a clean burning free-standing heating stove.
Assembly, installation and operating instructions are
enclosed with the product.
The installation may only be commissioned when it has
been inspected and is pronounced ready. Your dealer can
provide assistance in ensuring that your installation is safe
and legal.
The product data plate is located on the heat shield and is
made of heat-resistant material. The following information
is listed on the data plate: Manufacturer and address,
model number, manufacturing number, rated heat output,
registration number (after assignment), style, and safety
measurements.
Pre-installation checks
Please, ensure that there is adequate ventilation in the
room in which the stove is to be installed. You will require
an air brick or wall vent with a minimum size of 9" x 3" (230
x 75 mm).
Warning!
Insufficient ventilation may cause oxygen depletion in the
room. This can lead to drowsiness, nausea and sickness
and is extremely dangerous.
It is important to ensure that the chimney or flue system
into which the stove is to be installed is working properly.
Products of combustion which enter a room could be a
serious health risk. Before installation, therefore, the
chimney and/or flue system must be inspected by a
qualified professional and passed as suitable.
The chimney or flue must be sound and clean. If it has been
used with a wood, coal or other solid fuel fire, it must be
swept before the fire is installed.
Note: A guide is published by the British Flue and Chimney
Manufacturers' Association which contains general
information on chimneys and flues.
