For pondless application:
Put the pump (A) inside a pump vault (not
included) and adjust the pump (A) location
to a flat surface.
Insert a flexible rubber hose (sold
separately) into the vault through the
discharge hole of the vault and connect the
hose to the PVC pipe and tighten the hose
with a pipe clamp (sold separately). Fill the
vault and area around the vault with water.
Plug in the power cord. The pump (A) will
pump water out. Adjust the ball valve to
meet the desired water flow rate. Cover the
vault.
Notice: During a cold winter, freezing
water might damage the pump. It is
strongly recommended that the pump be
removed during freezing conditions.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Make sure there is ample water in your application for the pump. It is recommended that there be
3,000-4,000 gallons in the area you are pumping from so the pump does not recycle the water too
quickly.
2. Make certain the water level covers the top of the pump. This pump is water-cooled, and for
continuous operation, water must cover the pump to prevent the motor from overheating.
3. Plug the pump into a 115-volt GFCI power outlet. The pump will start operating.
4. The motor is equipped with an automatically resetting thermal overload protector. If the motor gets
too hot, the overload protector will shut off the pump before it is damaged. When the motor has
cooled sufficiently, the overload protector will reset and the motor will restart.
NOTICE: If the overload protector stops the pump repeatedly, disconnect the power from the pump
and after the pump cools down, check to find the problem. Low voltage, a long extension cord, a
clogged impeller, a blocked screen, or water that is too hot can cause the motor to overheat.
5. If the pump is operating and suddenly no water comes out of the discharge hose, shut off the unit
immediately. The water level is probably very low or the pump is clogged.
6. If the flow rate is too high, adjust the double union ball valve. DO NOT restrict the intake screen.
