Maintenance
NOTICE
Proper stepstool maintenance ensures the safe condition
of the stepstool.
•
Hardware, fittings, and accessories should be checked frequently and
kept in proper working condition.
•
All bolts and rivets shall be in place and secure before using a
stepstool, and no stepstool should be used if any bolts or rivets are
missing or if the joints between the steps (or rungs) and the side rails
are not tight.
•
Stepstools with safety shoes or padded feet which are excessively
worn shall be taken out of service until repaired.
Transportation
•
Stepstools transported on road, street, and highway motor vehicles
shall be properly supported. Securing the stepstool will greatly reduce

corrosion damage.

stepstool when it is not in use. These racks should have sufficient
supporting points to avoid sagging.
•
Materials shall not be placed on the stepstool while it is in storage.
