Installing the electrical kit
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
2. Remove the spare wheel.
3. If necessary, remove the following coverings and panels:

In the luggage trunk
Covering of luggage trunk bottom
-
Covering of the rear end plate
-
Right-hand and left-hand side covering
-
Covering of left-hand D-column
-
4. Starting in the luggage trunk, lead the socket end of the cable through the cable leadthrough
(Fig. 1/6) to the outside to the socket holder plate (Fig. 1/7).
5. Seal the cable leadthrough properly when finished.
Installing the socket
6. Fit the socket gasket and connect the cable harness to the socket housing in accordance with
the pin assignment plan (Fig. 1/7) and push the rubber grommet against the socket.
7. Screw the socket onto the holding plate (Fig. 1/7) using the supplied screws and nuts.
Connecting the tail lights
8. Lay the cable end with the left-side marking to the left-hand tail light (Fig. 1/1).
9. Disconnect the plug-in connector of the left tail light (Fig. 1/1) and connect it to the matching
counterparts on the cable harness. Make sure that the plugs lock firmly into place.
10. Lay the cable end with the right-side marking along the rear end plate to the right-hand tail
light (Fig. 1/9).
11. Disconnect the plug-in connector of the right-hand tail light (Fig. 1/9) and connect it to the
matching counterparts on the cable harness. Make sure that the plugs lock firmly into place.
Connecting the trailer control module
12. Secure the trailer control module (Fig. 1/4) to the left-hand wheel housing, using some velcro
tape.
13. Plug the 12-pin plug and the 18-pin plug into the trailer control module.
14. Connect the black wire with the eyelet to the vehicle's ground point (Fig. 1/5).
