1) Proper maintenance is a crucial element to ensure the long-lasting operation of all spray products (see maintenance action plan and
intervention report (annex 1)
2) During spray operation part of the water evaporates and some salts will remain on the fins; the quantity of salt remaining of the fins
is a function of the water quality (i.e. quantity of salts inside the spray water) and the water spray time.
3) It is necessary to remove the salt remaining on the finned surface, therefore periodic cleaning is strictly necessary.
4) The number of cleaning operations per year depends on several parameters, as specified in previous point 2. We suggest at least 2
cleanings during spray season and 1 at the end of spray season, but they can also be more frequent, according to the operating
conditions; in fact the criteria defining the number of cleaning if the presence of salts on the fins: no salts should remain on the fins.
5) The presence of salts on the finned surface may generate corrosion of heat exchangers. LU-VE is not responsible of corrosion
phenomena that may occur due to lack of maintenance
6) We suggest using water to clean the heat exchanger and remove salts, according to the instructions provided (see pag.44). If possible
we suggest using osmosis water for cleaning, that has higher capability to remove salts from the finned surface. Once the heat
exchanger is clean, use normal water to wash the heat exchanger
7) In order to match the required water quality specified in this manual, some chemicals will be used. The installer has to verify that
none of the chemicals generate any stress, corrosion, damage to the LU-VE unit.
8) During the commissioning procedure and during periodic maintenance, water values must be measured and properly recorded, as
indicated in Annex 1
9) During commissioning, a complete water analysis made by an independent laboratory must be available. If, during operation of the
LU-VE unit the water characteristics change, a new water treatment plant must be defined.
10) Nozzles: periodically check that the nozzles are working properly, making sure that no impurities from the Spray supply unit have
restricted the feed lines.
11) Clean regularly adiabatic panels, distribuition system, water tank and pump. We suggest at least at the beginning of the season,
after the flowering period and at the end of the season.
12) After every month of use, clean the external surface of the protective glass of the lamp with alcohol and let dry.
13) All maintenance and inspection work must be documented in a log
14) Adiabatic panels are made of paper, all ignition source must be avoided in that area.
