burns on contact with the skin; you should there-
fore wear suitable protective gloves at all times
if such an event occurs.
Only use rechargeable batteries of the correct
size and and the recommended type (see sec-
tion "Technical Information").
Ensure correct polarity, indicated in the battery
compartment.

Functionality

The solar cell built into the product converts sunlight
into electricity and stores it in a Ni-MH rechargeable
battery. The light switches on at dusk.
The built-in LED is a durable, energy-saving light
bulb. The light duration depends on the amount of
sunlight, the angle at which light hits the solar panel,
and the temperature (the battery capacity varies by
temperature). A vertical angle of light at temperatures
above the freezing point is ideal. The rechargeable
battery will only achieve its maximum capacity
after several charging and discharging cycles.

Initial use

Assembling the light

Installing the light

Make sure it is firmly positioned. Do not use
any force when assembling or installing the
product, e.g. striking with a hammer. This will
damage the product. For optimal results, install
the solar light in a location where the solar cell
will be exposed to direct sunlight for a long time.
Push the assembled solar light far enough into
the ground (lawn, flower bed) so it is stable.
Please note the assembly steps in chapter
„Assembling the light".
Be sure the solar cell will not be affected by
other light sources, e.g. outdoor or street light-
ing, or the light will not switch on at dusk.
The light will automatically switch on in low light
and switch off at normal ambient brightness.
Replacing the
rechargeable battery
For optimal results, replace the battery every
12 months.
This product uses a rechargeable battery type
R6 / AA 1.2 V 300 mAh Ni-MH (included).
Slide the ON / OFF switch
position.
Flip up the solar cell housing / battery compart-
ment
.
4
Use a cross-tip screwdriver to unscrew the
fastening screws. Then use a slotted screwdriver
at
to pry open the battery cover on the solar cell
housing
.
4
Replace the old battery with a new one; be
careful not to damage the cables. Please note
the polarity when inserting the battery. This is
shown inside the battery compartment
only rechargeable batteries of the recommended
type (see „Technical Information").
Close the battery compartment and tighten the
fixing screws using a small cross-tip screwdriver.
