2.1 PREPARING THE PLACE OF WORK
- The side of the opening to access the load on the floor
must be protected with railings over 1m high and a foot stop.
3. FITTING THE WINCH AND JIB (Fig. 8)
- Caution. While the clamps supporting the winch are
being tightened, take care the winch does not slip down along
the scaffolding pipe as it could crush the installer's hands or
feet.
- Make sure that the clamp screws are fully tightened.
- Make sure that the jib is connected to the scaffolding
with appropriate bracing (Fig.10).
- Do not move the load up or down with the jib and winch
in any position other than the one shown in Fig. 8 so as to
prevent the rope rubbing too much against the walls of the
snub pulleys.
