Operating Instructions
IMPORTANT: When setting the serving area, include an oven mitt or potholder to grasp the lid, a clear area
to set the lid, and a long-handled utensil to serve food from the Chafing Dish.
NOTE: Food placed in the Chafing Dish should already be cooked and hot. Keep the lid in place, remove only
to serve. The Chafing Dish is designed to keep food warm only; it cannot be used to cook foods.
1. Set the Chafing Dish base on a dry, clean and flat surface.
2. Place the Chafing Dish into the Chafing Dish base.
3. Add hot, cooked food to the Chafing Dish. Add the lid.
WARNING: The Chafing Dish base is not designed to keep large, deep pots full of food or liquids warm.
CAUTION: Do not fill the Chafing Dish more than 3/4 full with food.
4. Add a long-handled utensil next to the Chafing Dish for serving.
5. Plug the power-supply cord into a 120 V AC electrical outlet.
6. Turn the temperature control dial to the desired heating level:
•
HIGH 158º F (70º C)
•
MED 140º F (60º C)
•
LOW 122º F (50º C)
NOTE: Foods containing little or no liquid should be stirred occasionally.
CAUTION: To avoid dried-out or off flavors, do not leave food on the Chafing Dish base for extended
periods of time or when not in use.
IMPORTANT: Always use the Chafing Dish base handles to move the Chafing Dish.
7. Using an oven mitt or a potholder, grasp the lid and set it aside. Serve food from the Chafing Dish using
a long-handled spoon or ladle. ALWAYS replace lid after serving.
8. Turn the temperature control dial to OFF and remove plug from electrical outlet when not in use.
9. Allow unit to cool completely before cleaning.
User Maintenance Instructions
This appliance requires little maintenance. It contains no user-serviceable parts. Any servicing requiring
disassembly other than cleaning must be performed by a qualified appliance repair technician.
Care & Cleaning Instructions
1. Always make sure the temperature control dial turned to OFF, the Chafing Dish is unplugged,
and the Chafing Dish base is cool before attempting to clean.
2. Using the handles, remove the Chafing Dish from the Chafing Dish base.
3. Hand wash the stainless steel Chafing Dish and lid in warm, soapy water. Dry with a soft cloth.
NOTE: The Chafing Dish is dishwasher safe.
4. Wipe the lid and exterior with a dry cloth.
NOTE: The lid is dishwasher safe.
5. Wipe the Chafing Dish base with a damp cloth to remove superficial stains. Then shine with a dry cloth.
6. For stubborn stains, partially fill the Chafing Dish with hot water and add to the Chafing Dish base.
Plug the Chafing Dish into a 120 V AC electrical outlet, turn the temperature control dial to LOW, and
allow to soak for 5 to 10 minutes. Use a wooden spoon to remove burnt particles.
7. If necessary, use a nylon or plastic pad and a small amount of any good stainless steel cleanser to clean
difficult areas.
IMPORTANT: Do not use metal scouring pads or abrasive cleansers.
WARNING: NEVER IMMERSE THE CHAFING DISH BASE IN WATER OR OTHER LIQUID.
8. Rinse well. Dry thoroughly, shine with a dry cloth.
Storing Instructions
1. Turn the temperature control dial to OFF and remove plug from electrical outlet.
2. Store the Chafing Dish and Chafing Dish lid, and base in its box or in a cool, dry place.
3. Never store appliance while it is hot or still plugged in.
4. Never wrap cord tightly around the appliance. Do not put any stress on the cord where it enters the
unit, as it could cause the cord to fray and break.
