EN Instruction for assembly and use
MicroFeeder BasisFeeder
Assembly:
Insert the bolt (1) with a washer (2) through the small rubber disc (3),
1
and then through the large rubber
cover (4) - it is suggested to turn
the smooth side of the rubber cover
upwards, i.e. to insert the bolt from
that side.
Put an extra washer (5) on the bolt
2
and screw the nut (6) onto the bolt,
but not tight.
Place the rubber cover including the bolt etc. over the feeder and screw
3
the bolt into the threaded bushing-insert (7) in the centre column of the
feeder. Be very careful not to use force when you tighten the bolt, as
the bushing-insert otherwise easily is teared out of the plastic that holds
it.
Use:
Place the feeder in the fence where it is easy to inspect it and fill it up.
☐
The mineral feeder is meant for mineral supplements, which according
☐
the manufacturer are intended for free-choice supplementation. The
feeder is ideal for supplements like granulated minerals and fodder
salt, and it also provides good hold for buckets with molassed minerals,
which in that way stands protected from rain, sun and wind.
For optimal intake of supplements, it is advantageous that the animals
☐
eat up before fresh supplements are filled in.
Move the mineral feeder 10-15 meters now and then to avoid the ani-
☐
mals' damage of the grass sward around the feeder.
If you wish to place the mineral feeder on a sloping area, or for other
☐
reasons need to anchor it, then place its centre column over a pole
sticking around 20 cm up from the ground surface. In addition, to fix
thee feeder completely, you can drill a hole through the centre column
of the feeder and the pole and put a bolt through.
