Automatic switch-off
• The kettle will switch OFF automatically and the power indicator light (E) will go out when the water has
boiled or the kettle is removed from the base.
• When the water has boiled, the kettle will switch OFF automatically.
• If you want to stop the heating process before the water has fully boiled, simply lift the ON/OFF switch (F)
up to the OFF position.
• If the kettle is only filled with a little water, it may take longer to switch OFF.
Operation
Before using your kettle, you should wipe the inside and outside the kettle with a damp cloth to remove any
residue from the manufacturing process.
1.
Place the base unit on a flat surface. The base unit must be dry.
2.
If the mains cord is longer than necessary, it can be wound up at the bottom of the base unit.
3.
Open the lid.
4.
Fill with cold water up-to the MAX mark.
5.
Close the lid until it engages. The automatic switch-off can only function reliably with the lid closed pro-
perly. Wipe excess water off the kettle.
6.
Place the kettle onto the base in any position you wish.
7.
Plug the mains plug into a wall socket.
8.
Press the ON/OFF switch down to the ON position, the power indicator light will light up and the kettle
will start heating up.
Hints on Use
• The ON/OFF switch only operates when the kettle is on the base unit.
• Do not drink water from the first 2 boiling cycles.
• Be careful not to spill any water onto the base unit.
• To reheat water, check the water level to ensure it is above the MIN mark water level. If necessary, add more
water, then place kettle back onto base unit. Press the ON/OFF switch down to the ON position. You can
switch to OFF position when the water reaches your desired temperature on the thermometer (H) by lifting
up the On/OFF switch.
• When refilling water, be careful of hot steam when lifting/opening the lid.
• Always disconnect the kettle from the mains power outlet before cleaning.
• Allow the kettle to cool down before cleaning.
• Never clean the kettle and base unit under running water or immerse it in water.
• Occasionally rinse the interior of the kettle with clean water.
• Clean the exterior of the appliance only using a damp cloth. Do not use any caustic or abrasive cleansing agents.
