SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
• For information on cleaning, please refer to
the chapter on "MAINTENANCE".
• This appliance can be used by children aged
from 8 years and above and persons with
reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities
or lack of experience and knowledge if they
have been given supervision or instruction
concerning the use of the appliance in a safe
way and understand the hazards involved.
Children shall not play with the appliance.
Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be
made by children without supervision.
• It is imperative that the polarity of the
battery terminals be observed. Check that the
terminals (+) and (-) are installed in the right
direction, as per the diagram.
• Do not mix used batteries with new or
different types of battery: alkaline batteries
with standard batteries (zinc-carbon) or with
rechargeable batteries (nickel-cadmium).
• Never use batteries that show signs of
electrolyte leakage or cracks.
• Used batteries must never be thrown into fire
as they risk exploding.

• Batteries must be kept out of reach of children.
• Never short-circuit the battery terminals.
• Used batteries must always be removed from
the appliance.
• Remove the batteries from the appliance
before disposing of it when it is no longer
functional, or during long periods of non-use.
• Never attempt to open batteries.
• Batteries (or battery packs) must not be
exposed to excessive heat (sunlight, fire, etc.).
• Non-rechargeable batteries must not be
recharged.
• Check that the battery compartment panel is
firmly closed.
• Do not use the unit if it has fallen or been
damaged in any way.
DANGER
• An explosion may occur if the batteries are
replaced with an inadequate battery type.
• Batteries must always be replaced by batteries
of the same or equivalent type.
• Batteries must be disposed of in accordance
with the instructions.
• Do not place objects / items on the scales that
may damage the glass or unit.
