When the pressure cooker's other vents and safety valves become blocked and the
cooker reaches about 112-160 kPa, the safety valve will pop out, thus rapidly reducing
the pressure inside the cooker. While the pressure drops down, the safety valve will
operate automatically. Once the safety valve is operated, please turn OFF the stove
immediately, and let the cooker cool down entirely. Open the cooker cover and clean it,
making sure the exhaust pipe and valves are free of debris as mentioned in "HOW TO
USE THE PRESSURE COOKER".
If the safety valve still leaks steam during the cooking cycle, replace the safety valve
immediately. DO NOT attempt to repair the safety valve or use pressure cooker without
the safety valve in place.
