3.7 Testing Diodes
To avoid electrical shock and damage the meter when
measuring diode in a circuit, make sure the power to the circuit
is turned off and all capacitors are discharged.
1. Turn the rotary switch to
make sure power is disconnected from the circuit to
be measured.
2. Press the yellow button twice.
3. Connect the red test probe to the anode side and black test lead to the cathode
side of the diode being tested.
4. Read the forward bias voltage value on the display.
5. If the polarity of the test leads is reversed with diode polarity or forward bias
voltage is above 3V, the display reading shows OL.
This can be used to distinguish the anode and cathode sides of the diode.

3.8 Measuring Capacitance
To avoid electrical shock and damage to the meter when
measuring capacitance in a circuit, make sure the power to the
circuit is turned off and all capacitors are discharged.
Only Autorange is available in this mode.
1. Turn the rotary switch to
make sure power is disconnected from the circuit to
be measured.
2. Connect the red test lead to the + terminal and the black test lead to the COM
terminal.
3. Press the yellow button three times.
4. Touch the probes to the capacitor leads.
5. After allowing reading to stabilize, read the capacitance value on the display.
In the capacitance range 100mF the measure can be long and exceed 15s.
