5 Functional description

The welding fume extraction system xFUME PRO forms part of a welding system and is intended for use with manual and
robot welding torches. The internal filters of the welding fume extraction system extract and clean the harmful fumes produced
during the welding process. The xFUME PRO is designed to separate fumes generated during welding or the thermal cutting
of steels with alloy constituents such as nickel or chrome < 30 % and high-quality steels. The welding fume extraction system
draws in the polluted air through the air intake fittings (1) and feeds it into the filter system. During this process, the welding
fumes are pressed through the filter membranes of the filter cartridges. The dirt particles stick to the surface of the filter
material. The cleaned air is then fed into the lower section of the welding fume extraction system and returned to the
environment through an exhaust air grille (2). Depending on the version, either 1 to 2 or 1 to 4 welding fume extraction
systems can be connected.
The extraction system can be connected to the following receptacles:
• Fume extraction torch
• Welding torches with external fume extraction systems
• Funnel-shaped nozzle with magnetic bracket

Check the delivery for damage (visual inspection).
If the delivery has been damaged during transportation, contact the last carrier immediately.
Retain the packaging for potential inspection by the carrier.
Where possible, use the original packaging and the original packaging material. If you have
questions concerning packaging and safety during shipment, please consult your supplier,
carrier or transporter.
