Battery charging

IMPORTANT.
Before attempting to charge the battery,
check the charger, the charger base and the battery
to ensure the charging equipment matches the battery
supplied. The components are all labelled with
component numbers.
CAUTION!
The rechargeable battery is not fully charged on
leaving the factory. Charge the rechargeable battery before
GB
first use.
CAUTION!
The working temperature of the charger is 0
degree to 45 degrees (32 degree f to 115 degree f).
CAUTION!
When recharging the battery, connect the plug
pack charger into the charger base, then connect the plug
pack charger to the power source. The battery should be
inserted last.
1. Assemble the plug pack charger with the required pin
configuration. Connect the plug pack charger to the
charger base, and then plug in the plug pack charger into
the mains supply and turn on. The green LED will display.
2. Insert the rechargeable battery into the charger base (6).
The red LED will light and the same time the green one
will turn off.
3. The charging process will last approx. 45 - 60 min and
be displayed by red permanent lighting of the LED. The
charge will be completed when the red LED goes out and
the green LED lights up.
CAUTION!
If the red or green LED keeps flashing during
the charging process for more than 20 minutes, please
remove the battery and allow to cool down for 15 - 30
minutes. Then insert it into charger base again, if the LED
still flashes, the battery and charger require service.
Note. If the battery pack is still hot to hold, allow to cool for a
30 min and re insert. The charger will not charge a hot battery.

Operation

Intended use
This tool is intended for the fastening and loosening of bolts,
nuts and various threaded fasteners within the respective
range of dimensions.
This cordless impact driver has a collet that accepts only
standard 1/4" Hexagonal shank accessories with power
groove. The electronic variable low speed also provides
more control to prevent strip out of the screw and damage
to the work surface.
Inserting and removing accessories
WARNING:
To avoid loss of control,
ensure bit is locked in chuck by
pulling on bit after it has been
inserted. Your tool is equipped
with a quick release chuck. To
insert an accessory, simply pull
locking sleeve forward, insert
desired accessory into chuck and
release locking sleeve.
To remove an accessory, pull
locking sleeve forward and
simply remove it from the chuck.
Forward/reverse, centre lock & trigger switch
The direction of the bit rotation is
reversible and is controlled by a
selector located above the trigger
switch. With the driver held in
normal operating position:
1. Position the direction-of-
rotation selector to the left of
the tool for forward rotation.
2. Position the direction-of-
rotation selector to the right of the tool for reverse
rotation.
14
3. Setting the switch in the OFF (center lock) position
helps reduce the possibility of accidental starting
when not in use.
Use the forward/reverse switch to select the direction
of rotation, then pull the trigger. This trigger switch is
an electronic variable speed
control which enables the user
to vary the speed continuously.
The speed varies according
to how far the trigger switch
is depressed. The further it is
depressed the faster the chuck
will rotate and the lighter it is
depressed, the slower it will
rotate.
To stop the driver, release the trigger switch.
Note:
The variable Speed control fitted to this driver is
NOT intended to be used for long periods of time during
the operation of the task being performed. Use the variable
speed to start screwing tasks, and then fully depress the
trigger once the task has started.
CAUTION:
Extended use of the variable speed under load will overload
and then permanently damage the speed control.
To prevent gear damage, always allow the driver to come to
a complete stop before changing the direction of rotation.
The impact driver will not run unless the direction-of-rotation
selector is engaged fully to the left or right.
Temperature protection
When using as intended, the driver cannot be subject to
overload. But running continuously at full load for a long
time will cause the battery pack to over heat. If the allowable
battery temperature range of 0 - 70°C is exceeded, the
battery pack will automatically STOP operating and will not
restart until the battery pack has cooled to a safe level.
In this condition, DO NOT force cool the pack by placing in
a freezer or similar device.
LED working light
When the unit is switched on, the
LED working light (5) also comes
on to ensure better vision and
to make working in dark areas
more safe. The working light
goes out when the On/Off switch
is released.
CAUTION!
LED is laser class 1!
Do not look directly into the laser
as this may result in damage to the eyes.
Electric brake
To stop the impact driver, release the trigger switch and
allow the tool to come to a complete stop. The electric
brake quickly stops the rotating chuck. This feature engages
automatically when you release the trigger fully.
Rechargeable battery charge
display (4).
If the on/off switch is pressed,
the rechargeable battery display
indicates the charging status
of the rechargeable battery.
After 5 seconds, the LEDs will
automatically go off.
3 LEDs light up:
The rechargeable battery is fully charged
2 LEDs light up:
The rechargeable battery is half charged
1 LED lights up:

Low voltage cut out
The battery pack used on this tool is fitted with a low voltage
cut out feature within the circuitry.
The low voltage cut out feature operates when the voltage
drops below a pre set value. This feature automatically
stops the driver from operating (similar to that of the over
temperature condition). When this condition occurs you
will need to either insert another battery into the driver or
recharge the existing battery.
