Family Radio Service (FRS) is the newest
generation in personal two-way commun-
ications. FRS radios operate in a license-free
UHF band, requiring no FCC license or fees.
Maxon's FRS-100 is a lightweight, palm-
sized, two-way radio that you can carry
practically anywhere. With an operating
range of up to 2 miles*, the radio can be
used to communicate with family and
friends at campgrounds, sporting events,
amusement parks... any indoor or outdoor
activity.
The FRS-100 operates on a single channel
frequency (462.5625 MHz) with a / Watt of

direct output power. You can talk to another
person using any FRS radio, provided that
both radios are on the same frequency.
The radio has an automatic battery saver
feature - at 8 seconds of non-use the radio
goes into power save, assuring long battery
