5.2.4 Connection of several tanks
Use the connection kit and DN 50 high-temperature
pipes to connect several tanks together. The connection
kit consists of 4 DN 50 special seals, 4 DN 50 HT pipes,
2 tension belts and lubricant.
Use the drill surfaces provided on the top and bottom of
the tanks to connect the individual tanks. You should
create the openings for the connections with a core drill
with a Ø of 58 mm. Drill on opposing sides of the two
tanks so that they can be assembled accordingly later
on. Insert the DN 50 special seal in the openings. You
should grease the seal with lubricant so that it is easier
to guide the pipes into the seals.
Use the wide side to push together the tanks in the
trench. When sliding the tanks together, slide the
connection pipes (DN 50 high-temperature pipe) into
the openings. Push the tanks together until the ribbing
of the two tank halves interlock and the tanks are
touching each other.
Lash the tanks together in the trench with tension belts so that they don't move when you fill them. Fit the
tension belts to the eyes on the side of the tank and the side of the tank connection.
The connection pipes must not be shortened.

Insertion and filling
The tanks must be inserted, impact-free, into the
prepared trench using suitable equipment.
To prevent deformation, fill the tanks with water until
they are 1/3 full before filling the trench (check seal
integrity now). Then fill and seal the trench until it is 1/3
full with layers of max. 300 mm. You should then fill the
tank until it is 2/3 full and fill the trench with layers of
max. 300 mm until it is 2/3 full, etc..
The individual layers as well as the medial support
column must be well-compacted (manuel tamper).
Damage to the tank must be avoided during compaction.
Mechanical compaction machines must not be used
under any circumstances. The coating must be at least
500 mm wide. Ensure that there is sufficient compaction,
particularly in the bottom area between the tanks.
Filling material:
Chipping, 2/5 mm grit, topsoil
Excavated soil, filling sand, top soil, loam and other cohesive soils are not suitable for
filling!
