7 Fitting Advice

The instructions in this section are for practitioner use only.
Position as close as practical to the build line.
1. Pass the threaded Alignment Bolt through the single bolt hole in the upper surface of the
knee chassis or top housing.
2. Invert the knee and with the Female Pyramid Adapter and bolt supported, pass the washer
over the Alignment Bolt followed by the Alignment Nut, ensuring that the raised central lip
on the nut engages with the mating recess of the washer.
3. Apply Loctite 222 to the thread of the Alignment Bolt and tighten the Alignment Nut and
Bolt to 35 Nm.
4. Place the limb right way up and insert the Male Pyramid from the upper limb into the
Female Pyramid Adapter, positioning as required and applying angular and rotational
adjustment in order to align the limb.
5. Apply Loctite 243 to the thread of the Set Screws then tighten to 15 Nm.

Symptom
A recurring noise occurs at the alignment
interface.
The adapter moves out of position.

Solution
Check the Alignment Nut is correctly aligned
with the washer and is fully tightened.
Dismantle and clean the interface. Apply
Loctite 222 and tighten to the correct torque
setting.
Check the Set Screws are fully tightened. Apply
Loctite 243 and tighten to the correct torque
setting. User must not use the device until
adjusted, repaired or replaced.
