TROUBLESHOOTING

Problem
Will not hold load.
Will not lift load.
Will not lift to its full height.
Cylinder feels unsteady
under load.
Cylinder will not lower
completely.
Cylinder will not lift to its full

Cylinder ram doesn't move.

Cause
Dirt on valve seats.
Air block.
The reservoir could be
over� lled.
Low hydraulic oil level.
The pump cup seal could be
worn out.
Air block.
Unit requires lubrication.
Problems in hydraulic
system.
Hoist overloaded.
Ram jammed.
Ram binding.
Solution
1. Lower lifting boom.
Close the release valve
and remove oil � ller
screw.
2. Place one foot on the leg
and pull up the lifting
boom to its full height by
hand.
3. Open the release valve to
lower the lifting boom.
4. Worn seals.
1. Open the release valve
and remove oil � ller
screw.
2. Pump handle a couple of
full strokes and close the
release valve.
Check the oil level. Remove
the � ller screw.
Add oil to correct level.
Replace cup seal with a new
one.
Release air from hydraulic
cylinder by removing � ller
screw.
Oil external moving parts.
1. Check hydraulic system
and bleed if necessary.
2. Exceeded capacity of
hoist. Reduce weight of
load or use a hoist with a
greater weight capacity.
3. Check cylinder for
damage. Remove
defective part and repair.
4. Replace ram and seals.
