-
Inspect the device before each use. Do
not operate the hoist if it is bent, broken,
cracked, leaking or otherwise damaged,
any suspect parts are noticed or it has
been subjected to a shock load.
-
Be sure the load and hoist are stable and
in good balance. Never attempt to move
loaded hoist across oor having cracks
or other obstacles which might impede
movement of wheels. Always make sure
the centre of gravity remains inside the
hoist base. Do not allow the load to drop
suddenly. Open the valve slowly.
-
Do not allow yourself or anyone else to
be under the load when it is being lifted.
Never work directly under a supported
engine. Do not harness the load at an
angle or allow it to swing when it is lifted.
Do not climb or stand on the hoist.
-
Do not move a load with the boom
raised. Lower the load and boom
before moving the engine hoist. Move
the load slowly and smoothly to avoid
uncontrolled swinging and possible loss
of load.
-
Do not allow the load to swing or drop
violently while lowering or moving the
shop crane. Open the valve slowly.
-
Before lowering the load, ensure that
there are no obstructions underneath
and that all people are standing clear.
-
Never stand directly in front of a loaded
engine hoist and never leave a loaded
engine hoist unattended.
-
Re ll with hydraulic oil only, making sure
no dirt gets into the hydraulic system. Do
not use brake uid or any other improper
uid and avoid mixing diff erent types of
oil when adding hydraulic oil.
-
When not in use, release the pressure
from the hydraulic system. Store the
engine hoist with the boom in the fully
lowered position and hydraulic cylinder
valve closed.
-
Do not allow the hoist to get wet or
remain in a damp environment.
-
Store in a secure, dry place, out of the
reach of children.
-
Do not modify the hoist's structure or
operation in any way.
Hydraulic precautions
-
Never exceed the hydraulic system's load
capacity (see Technical data).
-
Do not adjust the hydraulic system's relief
settings. The settings are preset by the
factory.
-
Hydraulic oil under pressure is hot and
can cause a burn injury if touched,
sprayed or spilled. Allow the hydraulic
system to cool before conducting
maintenance.
-
Hydraulic components require regular
inspection. Release all pressure from the
system before you inspect it. Replace
damaged hydraulic components with
identical manufacturer's components.
-
Hydraulic uid has a combustible ash
point of 93°C. Do not expose the uid to
an ignition source.
-
Change your clothing immediately
if sprayed with hydraulic uid. Store
clothing or rags contaminated with
hydraulic uid in a closed re safe
container.
-
Fluid can penetrate the skin at 7 bar
pressure. Fluid escaping under pressure
from the appliance has suffi cient force
to penetrate your clothing and skin.
