DWELL ANGLE
1. Set the rotary switch to the desired "DWELL"
range according the cylinders of the engine to
be measured.
2. Connect the test leads into corresponding
jacks (black test lead into COM jack and red
test lead into
3. If measure dwell angle in conventional
ignition systems, connect the red test lead to
the negative side of ignition coil (see the vehicle
service manual for coil location).
4. Start the engine and wait to reach normal
operating temperature before start the
measurements.
5. Make reading on the display.
RPM
- Using the test leads
1. Set the rotary switch in RPM or X10RPM
position.
2. Insert the test leads into corresponding jacks
(black test lead into COM jack and red test lead
into

3. Connect the red test lead to the negative side

4. Start the engine and make reading on the
display.
5. Divide this reading by number of cylinders.

1. Set the rotary switch in RPM or X10RPM

2. Insert the clamp test leads into corresponding
jacks (black test lead into COM jack and red

3. Connect the clamp in the spark plug cable. Put the clamp on the cable checking if the
arrow on the clamp body is pointing to the spark plug.
The calmp must be positioned less than 10 cm of the spark plug.
4. Start the engine and make reading on the display.
