The CPRmeter 2 Silicone Cover is intended to be used with the CPRmeter 2. It provides a larger
patient contact area during use and does not require a patient adhesive.
Not for use on children under 1 year old
This product is in compliance with the essential requirements of EU Council directive
93/42/EEC as amended by EU Council directive 2007/47/EC.
Applying the Silicone Cover
1. Check that the silicone cover has been cleaned
and disinfected after last use.
2. Insert the CPRmeter 2 into the cover.
Cautions
• In case of slippage or movement, maintain correct placement of the CPRmeter 2 on the patient's chest.
• Do not use the Silicone Cover with patient adhesive.
Note
• Do not delay CPR. If the Silicone Cover is generally used with the CPRmeter 2, it should be applied to
the CPRmeter 2 in advance.
Use and Maintenance
The CPRmeter 2 use or maintenance is not changed by use of the Silicone Cover. The Silicone
Cover must be cleaned first for effective disinfection or sterilization. Disinfect or sterilize the Silicone
Cover using the respective method.
Instruction for Cleaning
1. Rinse the device in a sink under running, lukewarm water (22-43 °C) from a tap for at least
30 seconds. Submerge parts in lukewarm tap water (22-43 °C) ensuring that all surfaces are in
contact with water for at least 2 minutes before exposure to detergent.
2. Prepare a cleaning solution by mixing 1 tsp. (5 ml) of mild dishwashing liquid in 4 l of hot tap
water (60-70 °C).
3. Fully immerse the device in the cleaning solution for a minimum of 5 minutes.
4. Using a soft brush, scrub the device for a minimum of 3 minutes.
5. Rinse the device under running, lukewarm tap water (22-43 °C) for a minimum of 1 minute.
Disinfection in ortho-phthalaldehyde
1. Immerse the device completely in Cidex OPA Solution for a minimum of 12 minutes in room
temperature (20-25 °C).
2. Remove the device from the solution.
3. Rinse the device under running, lukewarm tap water (22-43 °C) for a minimum of 3 minutes.
Sterilization
Autoclave with distilled water for 4 minutes at 132 °C in a wrapped sterilization configuration using
autoclave cycles with Pre-Vacuum Air Removal.
Warning
With the use of the Silicone Cover, the CPRmeter 2 is not considered a disinfected or sterilized device.
