13. Bolt top spacer pad to LH
runner with 2 bolts and 2 lock
washers (FIG. 6-1). Torque the
2 bolts to 9-14 lb-ft.
14. Repeat instructions 10 to 13
for RH column.
15. Check clearance of the runner pads
as follows (FIG. 6-2).
• Between top spacer pad and
inner LH column.
• Between bottom spacer pad and
inner LH column.
• Between top spacer pad and
inner RH column.
• Between bottom spacer pad and
inner RH column.
Suffi cient clearance is equal to
thickness of 1 or 2 business cards
or .012" to .025" measured with
thickness gauge. Leaves of the
thickness gauge should be 3" or
longer to reach the runner pads.
16. Lower the platform half the
distance to the ground (FIG. 6-3).
Repeat the clearance checks
in 15. Next, lower platform to 6"
above the ground. Then, repeat
the clearance checks in 15.
17. If more clearance is needed to
prevent interference, repeat steps
10 to 13. Unbolt and bolt the top and
bottom spacer pads as necessary to
move pad 1 hole at a time.
