Before using the handpiece, check the tubing to ensure there are no restrictions either in
the drive air or exhaust lines. Air pressure at the connector should be 40-45 PSI.
Any cutting instrument, Doriot type (Standard U) contra angle or prophy angle (including
metal and disposable type prophy angles) can be used with the Little Guy or Little Pro.
Ensure the proper shaft diameter of 3/32 inch (2.35 mm) is used.
The chuck on the Little Guy and Little Pro is normally closed. To avoid internal chuck
damage, do not close the chuck unless a bur, prophy angle or contra angle has been
installed. To open the chuck, rotate the chuck release ring all the way to the right. Using
a rotary motion, a shaft may now be inserted into the chuck. When inserting a contra
angle or prophy angle, align the notch ("U") on the attachment with the locator pin on
the outside of the chuck and ensure they mate properly. Lock the chuck by turning the
chuck release ring all the way to the left and a distinctive "click" is heard. The chuck is
now closed.
Directional control of the Little Guy is established by moving the control ring to
the proper position. Rotate the ring fully clockwise (right) for forward and full
counterclockwise (left) for reverse. Keeping the ring in any other position will diminish
the effectiveness of the handpiece and may cause the handpiece to stop completely. The
Little Pro has no forward or reverse function and there is no forward reverse ring.
Caution: Continued use of defective attachments may permanently damage your
handpiece. Do not change rotational direction when the handpiece is running.
