2. Open chime extender case. Press on cover
with your thumb and slide cover off as shown
in Figure 2.
3. Install 4 "AAA" alkaline batteries (not
included). Make sure batteries are oriented
properly (see Figure 3).
4. Test range. Temporarily position chime
extender next to existing chime. Press "Test"
button inside chime extender (see Figure 4).
Verify red LED on chime extender flashes
momentarily and chime sounds. Note: Do not
permanently mount the chime extender until
you are sure they are working properly.
5. Test function. With the chime extender still
in the intended location, activate the existing
door chime. If the chime sounds, the system
is working correctly. If it does not sound, try
one or more of the following steps.
• Turn the microphone sensitivity knob inside
chime extender clockwise to increase mi-
crophone sensitivity (see Figure 5).
• Move the chime extender to different posi-
tions around the existing chime.
• Remove the microphone from chime ex-
tender by gently prying microphone out
of chime extender and routing the wires
through the small slot in chime extender.
Attach microphone to existing chime using
double-sided tape. Note: Do not mount mi-
crophone to chime bars and make sure the
small hole in the microphone is not covered
with double-sided tape.
6. Adjust sensitivity. Once the chime and chime
extender are working correctly, reduce the
microphone sensitivity to the least sensitive
position that allows for reliable activation to
minimize false activation from other household
noises (see Figure 5).
