Correct use
The IKA
Vortex 1 is designed for shaking test tubes. Gently
®
push the test tube into the soft attachment to start shaking.
Shaking stops as soon as you lift out the test tube.
The shaking rate is set using the front knob (left stop =
approx. 1000 rpm - right stop = approx. 2800 rpm).
Unpacking
Please unpack the device carefully and check it for damage. It
is important that any transport damage is detected when the
device is unpacked. In the case of any damage a report must
be sent immediately (post, rail or forwarder).
As supplied, the package contains:

Commissioning
Connect the appliance to a socket (please refer to the informa-
tion in the "Technical Data" section).

Maintenance and cleaning
The IKA
Vortex 1 is maintenance-free. It is subject only to
®
the natural wear and tear of components and their statistical
failure rate. Clean the devices only whith the following clea-
ning agents.

Cosmetics
water containing tenside /
isopropyl alcohol
Foodstuffs
water containing tenside
Fuels
water containing tenside
Wear the proper protective gloves during cleaning of the
devices. Electrical devices may not be placed in the cleansing
agent for the purpose of cleaning.
Before using another then the recommended method for
cleaning or decontamination, the user must ascertain with
the manufacturer that this method does not destroy the
instrument.
Repair:
Please send in instrument for repair only after it has been
cleaned and is free from any materials which may consti-
tute a health hazard.
For repair, please request the "Decontamination Certificate"

or use the download printout of it from IKA

If you require servicing, return the instrument in its original
packaging. Storage packaging is not sufficient. Please also use
suitable transport packaging.
