Sat IF distribution system
Single-cable multi-switch
Features
Single-cable multi-switch for a single-cable connection
for 6 receivers
Single-cable multi-switch for distribution of digital Sat-IF
signals (four sat levels; including HDTV) and terrestrial
signals via a single cable to up to six receivers in a
single-family household
No restriction on the variety of channels - the complete
range of channels from a satellite is transmitted
Independent horizontal/vertical selection, low/high
selection and transponder selection by each receiver
Changeover between horizontal/vertical and between
low band/high band, together with transponder
selection is carried out in the multi-switch under the
control of the receiver using a special DiSEqC™
command set to EN 50494
For transponder selection special tuner modules called
SCRs (Satellite Channel Routers) are incorporated
within the single-cable multi-switch for conversion to
the subscriber frequencies
Each receiver is assigned a fi xed subscriber frequency
(a twin receiver requires two subscriber frequencies)
The unit satisfi es EN 50494, i.e. all components of a
single-cable system that satisfy this standard can be
installed in a satellite system
Confi gurable gain in the SAT band with integral pre-
emphasis enables optimum signal distribution to the
subscriber connections
Terrestrial signals can be received in the 5-862 MHz
band even when the satellite receiver is switched off
Installation and safety instructions
• The equipment described is designed solely for the installation of satellite receiver systems.
• Any other use, or failure to comply with these instructions, will result in voiding of warranty cover.
• The equipment may only be installed in dry areas indoors. Do not install on or against highly combustible
materials.
• The equipment must be provided with an earthing wire (Cu, at least 4 mm
• The safety regulations set out in the current EN 60728-11 and EN 60065 standards must be complied with.
• Fixings: screws, max Ø: 4 mm
• Connector: RF plug 75 Ω (series F) to EN 61169-24.
• Unused RF connections must be terminated with 75 Ω resistors (e.g. EMK 03).
The LNB remote feeding is supplied by the receiver via
the "horizontal low" input. All other inputs are voltage-
free. When all receivers are switched off, the system
requires no power
To achieve a continuous power supply to the LNB
(for instance for cascading with loop-through multi-
switches), there exists the option of connecting the
NCF 18 plug-in power supply unit (not included with
this product) to the socket marked "DC".
