All distances (except in front) can be reduced by 50 %, using additional cover, for example 1 mm thick metal sheet or 7
mm thick cement/fiber composite plate (75 % smaller, using double cover). Between the walls and the cover must be
left 30 mm free airing space.
Safety distances between combustible constructions and DEVILLE module chimney :
100 mm from the insulated module and 1000 mm from the non-insulated connecting pipe 2 (fig. 3). Nevertheless the
first insulated module must reach at least at 400 mm downwards from the ceiling.
We recommend to use only insulated pipe modules !
2.4. Installation to the brick flue
Connect the fireplace to the brick flue, using connecting pipe 5 (or curved pipe) (fig. 4). The diameter of the opening in
the brick flue must be about 20 mm bigger then the diameter of the connecting pipe. Tighten the gap between the
connecting pipe and the opening in the wall, using mineral wool Do not fill the gap too tight, because of the thermal
expansion of the pipe. Do not fill the gap with masonry mortar !
2.5. Installation, using DEVILLE module chimney
When choosing the size of the chimney, take in consideration the total height of the chimney, outside conditions,
possibility of using the fireplace with open shutter (more air needed). Total height of the chimney must be at least 4 m
from the floor.
Chimney can be connected to the upper or to the back side of the fireplace. When connecting to the upper side, can be
used also non-insulated connecting pipe (other modules are insulated).
Read carefully directions about DEVILLE module chimneys and take in consideration the safety distances !
2.5.1. Connecting to the upper side, all modules insulated (fig. 3 and 8)
Attach the first module - smoke damper module SP-2. After that attach the other modules of the DEVILLE module
chimney, see instructions about module chimneys. The last module must be upper module S-1. In case of KS-151 use
adapter (fig. 8). Close the back smoke opening, using cover 4 and plate 5 (fig. 3).
2.5.2. Connecting to the upper side, using non-insulated connecting pipe (fig. 3)
Attach the joint pipe 3 and above it the non-insulated connecting pipe 2, after that attach the smoke damper module
and the first insulated module. Close back smoke opening, using cover 4 and plate 5. Remember, that the safety
distance between the non-insulated pipe and constructions, made from combustible materials is 500 mm. This
distance can be reduced, using additional covers (cf. 2.3), but nevertheless the gap between the pipe and the
cover's edge must be at least 500 mm ! First insulated module must reach at least at 400 mm downwards from
the ceiling !
2.5.3. Connecting to the back side, all modules insulated (fig. 4)
Connect the fireplace to the angle module or the through-module of the wall, using joint pipe 5. DEVILLE is not
responsible for the compatibility and the quality of the other manufacturer's chimneys.
3. OPERATION
3.1. General
We recommend to load at most 2 sticks of firewood when starting the fire for a first time (ventilate the room well) or in
very cold conditions (brick flue may be damaged). Do not load too much small sticks, chips or paper - their momentary
power is very high ! Fireplace C07722 is designed for work at nominal power of 6 kW, then the temperature of the
gases in the chimney doesn't exceed 350 °C. DEVILLE is not responsible for any damage of the fireplace
