6. Mounting the device

1. Open the battery compartment on the underside of the device (9). Insert 4 AA batteries (not
supplied). Pay attention to polarity, then close the compartment.
2. Place the inner tank (6) in the outer tank (7).
3. Fill approximately 250 g of charcoal in the charcoal tank (4) and place the cover (3) on the
tank.
4. Pour lighter gel in the centre of the ignition plate (5) and place the ignition plate at the bottom
of the inner tank (6).
Only use a bio-lighter gel in accordance with European standards for the use of fire-lighting
products (EN 1860-3).
5. Turn the switch (8) to the right to start the ventilation. It is recommended to set it to the
maximum to facilitate the catching of the fire.
6 Keep the lighted match in contact with the gel until the gel ignites.
7. Place the previously filled charcoal tank and its cover on the tank
containing the ignition plate (5).
Take precautions when removing the charcoal tank from the ignition plate. The charcoal
becomes hot and incandescent in a few minutes. Never put your hand close to the flame.
8. Then place the cooking rack (1) on the inner tank. Check that the rack brackets are positioned
correctly on the outside tank. Your barbecue e.zichef® is now ready to use.
9. To adjust the heating temperature, use the thermostat knob (8).

7. Cooking capacity

The cooking area of the e.zichef barbecue is 40 cm in diameter. It can accommodate about 8
steaks, 16 sausages or merguez sausage or up to 20 chicken wings.

8. Maintenance tips

Before cleaning the barbecue, wait until it has completely cooled. Never use water to cool the
hot/burning barbecue. Doing so may cause burns or scalding.
The barbecue and inner tank can be dishwasher-cleaned or hand-washed with conventional
dishwashing liquid. Never use acid, mineral spirits or other flammable agents for cleaning.
Use a damp cloth or a brush to clean the outer tank, which contains the electrical unit. We
recommend that you remove the batteries from the compartment if the barbecue is not in use for a
long time.
