WATER INSTALLATION

To achieve a good heater installation, verify the type of water feed system you have at your
home, there are two different types.
Open system (with a cistern): To supply water to the heater, an air tube must be installed at the
cold-water inlet:
• The air tube installation must not be omitted for the cold-water inlet, and we recommend
installing one for the hot water outlet also.
• The air tube discharge must be slightly higher than the upper level of the cistern, by at least
20 cm (see Fig.3).
• Long segments of piping and/or accessories such as: elbows, T connections, distributing
valves, etc., should be avoided. (The recommended distance between the heater and the
point of use should not exceed 5 m).
• To have the correct hot water pressure, the cistern must be at least 2 m above the shower
level.
IMPORTANT: in the open system, DO NOT INSTALL the included relief valve, because it
could cause a loss of line pressure.
Closed or Pressurized System (direct from the water system): Regarding the heater's water sup-
ply, we recommend installing a relief valve (NOT INCLUDED) at the hot water outlet, calibrated
at (0.68 MPa) (7 kgf/cm2) (100 psi) (see Fig.4).
IMPORTANT
When there is excessive pressure, water exits through the relief valve. This is a normal mecha-
nism and does not mean the heater has malfunctioned. Avoid undue water spills by installing a
drainage tube at the relief valve exit towards the drains
Maximum operating pressure of 0.7 MPa (7,13 kgf/cm²)
We recommend checking the relief valve (included) at least once a year, to make sure it is in
good working condition.
