MAINTENANCE
Inspect your oil pump and associated hoses weekly for any
signs of damage. Replace any damaged or worn components.
Every 2 weeks (or sooner if the pump is used every day) apply a
few drops of light oil to the air inlet of the pump. (Sewing machine
oil is ideal).
PUMP DISASSEMBLY
1) Disconnect air supply and release oil line pressure.
2) Remove oil discharge hose from pump outlet.
3) Withdraw pump from the oil drum/tank. (Use a clean bench to
carry out maintenance).
4) Remove the 4 screws T112S/T312S (22) - T512S (19) holding
the cylinder T112S/T312S (11) - T512S (7) to the cylinder base
T112S/T312(21) - T512S (14). Carefully lever the cylinder off the
cylinder base.
5) Remove the exhaust screen and screw T112S/T312S (1,10) -
T512S (33,6).
6) Remove the 6 screws T112S/T312S (38) - T512S (35) holding
the valve body T112S/T312S (2) - T512S (31) to the cylinder
T112S/T312S (11) - T512 (7). Remove the valve body assembly
and valve gasket T112S/T312S (5) – T512S (29)
7) Pull out the 2 brass pins T112S/T312S (37) - T512S (34)
holding the end plugs to the valve body. Lever out the end plugs
at either end of the valve body.
8) Gently push the spool valve T112S (36) - T312S (41) - T512S
(36) out of the valve body. Be careful not to damage any o-rings
when removing.
9) Remove the top (long) poppet valve assembly T112S/T312S
(7) - T512S (2) and o-rings located on top of the cylinder and the
bottom (short) poppet valve assembly T112S/T312S (43) - T512S
(28) located on top of the cylinder base.
TROUBLE SHOOTING GUIDE
TROUBLE
1) The air leaks continuously from the
exhaust screen.
2) The air motor does not operate or
cycle when the reset button is pressed.
3) The air motor does not operate, but
will cycle when the reset button is
pressed.
4) The air motor cycles much faster
than normal but fails to pump oil.
5) The air motor runs slower than
normal.
6) The air motor cycles intermittently
when not using the pump.

CAUSE
Damaged or worn air piston cup seals
or air piston.
The lower poppet spring is fatigued.
a) The spool valve is jammed in the
valve body.
b) The top poppet spring is fatigued.
a) The suction tube is not fitted
correctly. (ie. sucking air).
b) The piston valve is not seating
properly.
a) The air pressure is too low.
b) The air strainer is partially blocked.
The ball in the foot valve is not seated
properly.
10) Hold hex section foot valve horizontally in a vice. Hold the air
piston T112S/T312S (15) - T512S (10) firmly and unscrew the
Allen head screw, then remove the air piston assembly from the
piston rod T112S/T312S (17) - T512S (13).
11) Carefully unscrew the foot valve and pump cylinder assembly
T112S (26,28) - T312S (26,29) – T512S (24,27) from the cylinder
base T112S/T312S (21) - T512S (14)
12) Withdraw the piston and piston rod assembly T112S/T312S
(17,25) - T512S (13,23) from the cylinder base T112S/T312S (21)
- T512S (14).
13) Clean and carefully inspect all parts for wear or damage.
Replace any suspect, worn or damaged parts.
PUMP REASSEMBLY
1) Ensure that all parts have the correct orientation. If parts are
assembled upside down, the pump will not work. Check the parts
diagram for correct orientation.
2) Apply thread sealant (Loctite or similar) to pump cylinder thread
when reassembling the unit.
3) Assembly of the pump is a reversal of the disassembly
procedure.
4) Ensure that all o-rings, particularly in the valve body and the top
and bottom poppet valves areas sit square.
5) Apply light grease (e.g. Petroleum Jelly) to the o-rings on the
bottom adaptor and air piston seals before fitting the cylinder to
the cylinder base T112S; T312S (21) - T512S (14)
6) Fit the pump to your oil drum/tank and reconnect the oil hose
and air supply. Open dispensing nozzle to ensure correct
operation.
REMEDY
Replace the cup seals and piston.
Replace the bottom poppet spring.
a) Push the reset button.
1) If the motor starts, disconnect the air line and apply 3
or 4 drops of light oil to the air inlet of the pump.
2) If the motor does not start, replace the spool valve,
and clean the valve body bore.
Note: When re-assembled, apply 3 or 4 drops of light oil to
the air inlet of the pump.
b) Replace the top poppet spring.
a) Re-seal the suction tube to the pump with thread
sealant.
b) Check that the piston valve is seating correctly, or
replace if damaged.
a) Increase the air pressure to specifications.
b) Clean air strainer.
Check that the footvalve ball is seating correctly. (Clean if
necessary)
