red water, it will rinse the membranes.
The operator is responsible for using the machine properly
and, once it is installed, making sure that the supplied water
quality complies with the requirements.
In the event that the machine does not work for a long time,
we advice you to unload about 20 or 30 litres water at the
restart (20 minutes).
12) ROUTINE MAINTENANCE
Unplug the plug from the socket (fig. 3 A) before starting clea-
ning and/or maintenance procedures.
Maintenance procedures require:
1) filter replacement;
2) water hardness check;
3) expansion vase pressurization.
The filter efficiency is very important for a good functioning
of the machine. A bad filtration causes a malfunctioning of
the machine.
We advise you to replace the filter every time it is too dirty
or at least once every 6 months. Filter replacement must be
carried out only with original spare parts.
The water hardness check guarantees a good functioning of
the machine.
To perform maintenance work, we advise you to address to
an installer.
12.1 FILTER REPLACEMENT (FIG. 2)
Filter replacement procedure:
1.
Turn off the switch (fig. 1 A) and unplug the plug form the
socket (fig. 3 A).
2.
Close the inlet tap and open the outlet tap (fig. 9 B) and
let all the pressure unload.
3.
Close the outlet tap.
4.
Unscrew the three screws and remove the front panel
protecting the filter (fig. 1 D). Loosen the filter screw to
let the remaining pressure unload.
5.
Using the supplied key (fig. 2 C) unscrew the sleeve (fig.
2 B).
6.
Take apart the sleeve and the filter cup (fig. 2 F) and pull
out the old cartridge. If dirty, clean the filter cup paying
attention to the seal.
7.
Clean the new cartridge under a water jet and set it in the
filter cup properly, paying attention to the seal. Then re-
assemble the filter cup with its seal and screw the sleeve
with the supplied key.
8.
Open the inlet tap (fig. 1 B) slightly and let the air go out
from the filter screw. When the cup is full, close the inlet
tap and screw the screw. Reopen the inlet tap slowly and
completely and make sure there are no leaks.
9.
Open the outlet tap slowly (fig. 1 G), plug the plug in the
socket and turn on the switch so that the pump starts
working. Make sure there are no leaks.
10. Replace the front panel protecting the filter.
12.2 WATER HARDNESS CHECK
With the use of the appropriate test piece check the membra-
ne efficiency.
The check must take place once every 4 months or every time
there are doubts about the supplied water quality. In any case,
we advise you to address to an installer.
To do the check, unload about 3 or 4 litres of water from the
collection point and fill the cup with water up to the first mark
(about 5 ml).
Add the reagent, one drop by time, and shake lightly. Count
the drops until the solution becomes green. A correct value
Instruction manual ZB02
is from 1 to 4 drops until the water sample becomes green.
If more than 4 drops are necessary, inform the installer.
If other test types are used, follow the enclosed in-
structions.
12.3 EXPANSION VASE PRESSURIZATION
The expansion vase (fig. 3 M) absorbs possible water ham-
mers in the fixture.
Inside it there is a pressure air chamber, which could deflate.
In this case it is necessary to reflate it.
Follow these steps to do this:
1. close the inlet tap and open the outlet tap (fig. 9 B), unload
all the pressure, turn off the machine, unplug the plug from
the socket.
2. Remove the left side panel (fig, 1 I),
3. unscrew the expansion vase cap (fig. 3 F),
4. inflate the air chamber using a small pump equipped with a
pressure gauge, until the value of 0.9 bar is reached.
5. screw the cap (fig. 3 F) and replace the panel,
6. restart the machine
13) EXTRAORDINARY MAINTENANCE:
MEMBRANE REPLACEMENT
Membranes do not have an expiry date or a time limit beyond
which it is necessary to replace them. Their working condi-
tions inside the machine are optimal and guarantee some
years of work before needing replacement. It is however sa-
tisfying if the membranes will be still efficient after 4 or 5
work years.
Membrane life is higher where the processing water has a
moderate salinity. With water with a higher salinity grade,
membranes could have a shorter life.
A supplied water hardness growth indicates membranes
should be replaced.
Ask qualified personnel to replace the membranes.
HOW TO REPLACE THE MEMBRANE
1.
Turn off the switch (fig. 1 A) and unplug the plug (fig. 3 A)
from the socket.
2.
Close the inlet tap and open the outlet tap (fig. 9B) to
discharge the pressure.
3.
Uninstall the machine from the water network and di-
sconnect the inlet and outlet taps and the drain pipe (fig.
6).
4.
Screw the screw to open the two side panels (fig 1 I) of
the machine.
5.
Disconnect the feeding pipe of the membrane 1 (fig.
10B).
6.
Disconnect the permeate and concentrate pipes (fig.
10B) (Attention! do not invert them when reassembling).
7.
Unscrew the 2 screws of the fastening plates (fig. 10 A)
which hold the membrane containers fast to the body.
Extract the 2 containers from the machine.
8.
Unscrew the containers cap screws and extract the caps
(fig. 7 B, E).
9.
Extract the membranes (fig. 7 C).
10. Clean the containers (fig. 7 D) and the caps (fig. 7 B, E)
carefully.
11. Insert again the outlet caps (fig. 7 E) and screw the
screws of the outlet caps.
12. Insert the new membranes paying attention to the input
way (flow) (fig. 7 C).
13. Insert again the inlet caps (fig. 7 B) in the containers
keeping them aligned with the outlet caps.
14. Insert the pipes in the related joints correctly (fig. 10 B).
