12.- ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. RESIDUAL RISKS.
Moving parts, such as gears and chains, have been limited to avoid
mechanical hazards. Fixed guards have been placed around pieces where
mechanical risks can be found, such as sprocket chains; those guards should
never be removed from its original location, except for maintenance
operations.
Residual risks are indicated by standard signalling on the machine. These
signals must be in perfect condition; otherwise, they should be replaced by
identical elements that can be provided by the manufacturer upon demand.
Noteworthy is that any work required on the part of the operator has been
minimized during the normal operating cycle of the machine. Workers will
only be exposed to residual risks during maintenance tasks and in case of
malpractice.
12.1 Definitions.
Qualified personnel will be assigned to work with or on the machine
depending on the nature of the task (production, maintenance, repair,
cleaning, etc.).
OPERATOR: An individual whose exclusive assignment is to handle the
machine during production.
HANDYMAN: A skilled operator who is in charge of interventions related
to maintenance operations on the machine under the customer
