4. To return to normal weight display (gross weight),
remove any items from the weighing platform and
press the TARE key again to re-zero the scale.
VII.
Calibration
This scale is factory calibrated. For better accuracy, you
should calibrate:
1. Whenever high accuracy is require.
2. At least once a year depending on frequency of use.
3. When the scale readings are outside of the
acceptable tolerances (see chart below).
Calibration Tip:
I
It is important to use only the exact weight that the scale
asks for when performing calibration. Calibration assumes
that you are placing the exact weight requested on the
platform and it cannot be undone. If you use the wrong
weight during calibration, the only way to fix the scale will
be to calibrate again using the correct weight.
NOTE: Only use Class M2 accuracy weights or better when
calibrating your scale. Using household items such as
nickels to calibrate or test your scale is not recommended.
Nickels weigh between 4.95g and 5.05g in circulation, which
is not accurate enough for high precision scales. Calibration
weights are available from AWS and can often be purchased
from the same location you purchased your scale.
