The throttle sensor is a potentiometer and the signal has as objective to calculate the speed in idle speed, angle of
beginning of injection and time of injection in acceleration and deaceleration. The movement of the pedal sets in
motion a sliding contact that, through one track of electric resistance, generates the signal in accordance with the
requested situation.
The ECM, through the variation of tension in the sensor, takes the following positions of the pedal:
Idle Speed Position (CT = 0 - 8%): CT position controls the idle speed and the deceleration of the vehicle or
brake-engine;
Acceleration Position (PT = 8 - 73%): PT position controls a better use of the injection map;
Full Acceleration Position (WOT = from 74%): WOT position controls the dosage of fuel with the objective to
prevent emissions due to fuel excess and thermic overload caused by torque or speed.
