Operation is based in the comparison of the RMS sensing voltage with the reference voltage, adjusted by the sum of the voltage
adjustment trimpots and the external potentiometer. The error is processed by the sensing grid, and this value determines the
firing angle of the thyristor, controlling in this way the output voltage of the generator.
Generation starts through the generator residual voltage. After the voltage has reached approximately 10% of the rated value,
the regulator controls the voltage of the generator causing the voltage to increase in approximately 1 second, until it reaches
rated voltage. From this moment on, the control grid will maintain constant output voltage of the generator within the adjusted
value.
