Preparation
Installing the charger
1.
Place the power cable such that nobody stumbles over it.
2.
Keep the cables away from hot surfaces.
Charging the batteries
Notice
This device includes a modern NiMH-battery featuring an especially high
capacity with low weight.
It does not have any "Memory effect" and has longer durability if handled
properly.
The device is not ready for battery operation at the time of delivery.
Charge the device for 2 hours before using it for the first time. Thereafter the
normal charging time is 1 hour.

Check conformability between the mains voltage on the nameplate of the
plug-in power supply unit [4] and the available current.

Insert the plug-in power supply unit into the socket.
3.
Place the device in the charger [11].
First pull out the comb attachment [3] from the device.
4.
Pay attention that the on/off sliding switch [7] is at 0 when the device is
charging.
The LED charge level indicator [9] displays the charging status:
LED
Charging status
Blinking
Charging.
Glowing
Charging is complete.
Removing the sticker from the knife head
Pull out the sticker on the underside of the knife head before using it for the
first time. On this sticker, you can see whether the knife head can be folded
without using tools.

Operation
Adjusting the cutting length
Without comb attachment
Without comb attachment, the cutting length is 0.3 mm.
With comb attachment
The adjustable comb attachment [3] locks into the knife head [5] in 4 stages
from 3 to 6 mm.
Before cutting, check whether the desired cutting length has been set properly.
Use only original accessories.
Switching the device on and off
Actuate the on/off sliding switch [7].

In the OT11B model, LED light for cutting [6] switches on/off automatically.

Cleaning, maintaining, storing
Cleaning the device
1.
Using a damp cloth, wipe the device from time to time.
2.
Then rub it dry.
Cleaning the knife head
To avoid increased wear of the knife head and motor, the knife head must be
cleaned at regular intervals and oiled at appropriate locations.
In case of regular use, clean and oil the knife head thoroughly once daily:
1.
Switch off the device.
2.
Using the cleaning brush, remove hair carefully.
3.
Detach the knife head [5] at regular intervals, to remove hair residue from
the insides of the device.
Device status
The device is switched off.
The device is switched on.
