1.1 Safety instructions and warnings

1.2 General safety instructions
Observe the nominal voltage before operating
the device, see type plate. Make sure that the
connection lines are not damaged and that they
are disconnected while wiring the device.
Cleaning:
With power disconnected, the meter can be
cleaned with a dry cloth or a cloth moistened
with soap solution. Under no circumstances must
corrosive or solvent-containing substances be
used for cleaning.
Maintenance:
The HW 66 is maintenance-free. In case of
damages caused by transport or storage the
operator is not allowed to carry out repairs.
Guarantee:
Opening the meter will void any warranty claim.
In addition, the calibration of calibrated measu-
ring devices will become invalid.
1.3 Designated use
The local standards, guidelines, directives and
regulations must be observed. The installation
of the meter must be carried out by expert and
trained personnel only. Protect the meter against
humidity when storing and transporting it and do
not operate it outside of the specified technical
data.
Sealing:
The meter is not equipped with a lockable cover,
thus there is no possibility of sealing.
To meet the requirements according to
EN 50470-1, art. 5.5, in case of an accounting
device, the housing that contains the meter must
be sealable.

1.4 Description:
The double display of kWh and time has been
especially developed for making the accounting
of rental devices and machines exact and repro-
ducible. The meters of the HW 66 series are
tamper-proof and show both values even with
power disconnected. The kWh display of the MID
counter HW 66 M is factory-calibrated and may
be used for accounting purposes.
This hour meter shall not be used for electric-
ity consumption invoicing.
